Well, something like that. I have dreams that are sometimes very detailed, people who appear with very specific features and actions -- who is making those up? I don't see myself as being that creative!

I agree. If you have any writing aspirations, then maybe you're getting some useful plots. Because of the meds I take, I get VERY vivid dreams. But none seem to be very extraordinary so far.

I can relate. Some of my dreams feature people I know but a lot have a cast of total strangers and the dreams are long and very interesting. If I was that creative while awake I would be writing books or short stories.

Every character in your mind is a personification of a different part of you. A lot of it is a collage of different things you've seen thought your life. Even passing strangers on the street could become part of the imagery. It's like your subconscious has this giant bin of magazine clippings and throws together characters for each dream from this bin of your lingering memories (the ones that aren't terribly pertinent to you).
