I have many dreams about suicide and people killing me..... them screaming everything bad I have ever done at me.... I also have dreams about people killing the people I love (my fiancee, late boyfriend, family, etc.).... I wake up screaming in the middle of the night.... it's been going on for about a year now.... mainly the suicide dreams though.... anyone have any ideas?

P.S I have a lot of suicidal thoughts (schizophrenic and bipolar with depression)

Hi xXSKitty,
It sounds like your symptoms are resurfacing during your REM phase of sleep. If I were you I would contact my Pdoc for a med adjustment. Your brain isn't allowing you to sleep soundly. The stressors of these dreams can merge over into your day to day life. Meaning shorter attention span, increased anxiety, tired, etc. With that being said, calling this to your Pdoc attention will more than likely result in a med adjustment. I think you'll feel a lot better then. Good luck & sweet dreams.

Thanks White, but I don't go to a Pdoc nor do I take meds....... do you know any ways to control them a little without it?

I would look into lucid dreaming methods to take control of these dreams, like say if u have a nightmare about loved ones in danger you can instantly spring into action and use super powers to save everyone and everything
Thanks for this!

I agree with one poster about lucid dreaming.
Caution first, because you do not want to travel to a landscape without the skills to acknowledge where you are.
There is a book written by The Dali Lama called Sleep, Dreaming, and Dying
Another good book, which has nothing to do with sleep but mindfulness. This book is called, Coming to our senses by Jon Karat-Zinn. I would read the second first.
Everything in your dream is a reflection of you and your emotions.
I am aware when I am dreaming because of years of training.
Death dreams are not about a person dying. Rather they are singals that you want out of the way you are feeling.
Best Wishes,
H.

I've had a dream that someone shot me in the head, I was still alive for about 10 seconds and could feel the bullet in my head. I woke up with a headache where the bullet went in... kinda scary.

I've had a dream about biblical figures, even dreamt I was being crucified, and given the crown of roses with the thorns too, When I woke up i had the worst headache I've ever had. I also dream I'm outside of the house doing things with my friends at parties, I even hear them talking to me, I also have old job dreams, where I'm doing the actions I used to do at work, then i realize during the dream at some point that it isn't real so i just drop everything involved and try to get back to sleep
Thanks for this!

It sounds logical to dream of dying when you want to get out of a situation
