hi all.

does anyone use a supplement before bed to get a better night's sleep? i have heard a magnesium supplement and a glass or milk and / or taking valerian can help with sleep.

cheers

i'm surprised no-one has had any thoughts so far. i ask because i've experimented with valerian and magnesium supplements with ok results.

I sometimes use Melatonin, but after several days use in a row it tends to give me incredibly vivid and unpleasant dreams. If I stop for a few days, then it's ok to use again.

I don't necessarily use the magnesium but sometimes do (or just chew a Tum) but if I have trouble staying asleep or wake in pain and have to get up for a bit until it settles; I'll often eat a bowl of cereal or carton of yogurt (the milk :-) I eat smaller amounts every so often during the day and not eating at night can sometimes trip me up such that eating something at night, too, will soothe me and let me get better sleep for another 3-5 hours.
