This is likely because of medication, but for years now I don't have dteams. And if I do it is a disturbing repetitive theme. Accidents, or other times whatever I dreamt it seemed like a long time had past but nothing was really happening, like a very long car ride with no destination. Any ideas what's up with that? Thanks for any help. I also can't stay asleep for more than a frw hours

I meant I've dreamt about past car accidents. But what I really don't inderstand is why I rarely remember anything unless its disturbing like about my ex or past trauma. Other times I wake up and this sounds crazy but I have a song in my head and its still there when I wake up a few hours later. Its like I don't get any R.E.M. sleep. Thanks for trying to help I know my post was shallow

Trauma often is remembered through dreams, thus what you are experiencing is normal. What kind of tune you are hearing? Happy? Sad? ????

Usually short and crazy. But I haven't listened to music much except what my ex liked and that was angry music. So I have found yours helpful. I really enjoy it. It is powerful. And doesn't repeat stupid phrases. Thank you Thunder Bow.

Thank You. You are intelligent, that's why you don't like simple music that repeats simple words over and over and over!

Do you have sleep apnea or some type of circadian rhythm disorder? There are many reasons why you cannot reach REM sleep [& when you do, it's not for long]. My boyfriend has some sort of anxiety disorder as well as sleep apnea & both interrupt his ability to dream. Or at least remember his dreams.

Since I don't know you, I can't deduce whether the repetitive/disturbing dreams are trauma surfacing or you're having weird brainwaves in your sleep. I sometimes get seizure/migraine activity while I sleep & I get what I can only describe as a night terror. Sudden onset, short duration dreams which give me a sense of panic or dizziness, often accompanied by feeling incredibly dazed or sweaty when I wake up.

Whatever it is, I hope you find an answer to your troubles soon!! Look up online sources about proper "sleep hygiene" & tips on remembering more of your dreams.

Hi Shayatanica, so nice to meet you! I think you have made me aware of some very real possibilities. I have those times when I wake up in a sweat after only a few hours feeling panicky. I dont get headaches too often but it is usually in the mornings. My ex told me that I snore very loudly but I wonder if I do stop breathing for a while. My son now says I make strange noises and talk in my sleep. I have had trauma but feel like I've dealt with it for the most part. My problem is I am dependent on 5 mg diazepam and 25mg seroquel and the combination is not recommended although prescribed. I also have diabetes, high blood pressure and thyroid disease. Seroquel messes with blood sugar but I can't seem to sleep without it.
Thank you for your help!! kelly

All those Medications will affect your sleep and dreams. Do keep your doctors informed about your sleep patterns and dreams.

Thank you Thunder Bow. I haven't mentioned it to them, I guess there is always something else to take care of. So now I will remember to tell them. Your other post made me feel so good about myself I laughed!
