I cannot seem to get any sleep anymore, the most sleep I can get is about 1-3 hours and I wake up feeling like I didn't sleep at all. Is there anyway to fix this. I never get enough sleep and feel crap all day but then I can't get to sleep at night.

I'd go see your doctor, make sure you don't have anything physically wrong. Your doctor can prescribe a sleep disorders test if s/he deems it necessary.

Definitely see a dr...I can't fall asleep without klonopin due to my anxiety, and even now if I take it and if I am TOO anxious, I still stay awake. I was laid off last year so now I sleep most of the day and stay awake at night...not optimal at all, but for some reason I do sleep better during the day.
I know you feel awful only getting the few hours a night that you are; I hope your dr. can give you something to help! ![]() |

I'm a night owl by nature, always have been, but it doesn't bother me. I love being up at night. Once I go to sleep I sleep really well. I usually try to work second or third shift but if i have to work 1st, I will take something to help me sleep if I have to. If you are a person who doesn't like the way sleep meds make you feel, you may want to try self-hypnosis or meditation. These can be very effective. I am not endorsing the guy, but Paul McKenna is pretty good. I've used this one on my tablet a couple of nights to help me get to sleep.

Can relate and totally empathise.
I have insomnia… since my teens… at the moment I take Dalmane…but still only get about 2hrs, and even those 2hrs are not restful or refreshing. The rare occasions when I get night sleep…I wake up and feel totally exhausted. I know it is not good to be on sleeping tablets long term but that is the case with me, been on lot of different ones over the yrs. I follow 'sleep hygiene' but it doesn't do the trick for me. I agree with other posters about going to the doctor…there could be things on your mind that are causing you to stay awake? Insomnia is a curse!!!! Hopefully, you will get it resolved Jay

I can relate to that, but it sounds like you get it way more often. Personally I use a medication called Tamazapam and it works well. - However, it seems to loose it's effectiveness if I use it more than 2-3 day per week. Also if I take any other benzos that day, it will not work.
Either way, if it's a bother, mention it..... |

I can relate. I normally don't get more than 2-4 hours of sleep a night. Some nights I don't get any. The most I've gone without sleep was about 3-4 days.
I notice that if I tire myself out (exercise, walking, etc) all day, then I will be able to sleep at least 4 hours. I also have found that if I sleep in different places (bathroom floor, bedroom floor, etc) and positions, it helps sometimes too. |

I was given Seroquel to take to help me sleep however I have since found out that it can raise your insulin levels raising your sugar levels and could possibly cause diabetes. I have read several posts that have said when they took it for a while they did get diabetes. I stopped taking it and will deal with 3/4 hrs of sleep.

I have sleep apnea and have to sleep with that darn machine, but I swear it works. When I was younger and in my college years I used to be a night owl too, sleeping in the day, and staying up all night. I was just about forced, after I got married, to become a day person, which worked out good because my husband is a day person, and if I wanted to spend time with him I would have to be awake during the day!!! I enjoy the sunshine now, before i could have cared less about it, I preferred the moon.i did go through a process of becoming a day person.i had to go through a few days at once to try living in the day.It took about a month, but now I sleep from about 8:00 PM to 6:00AM. One other thing too is I am very medicated as I get seizures and need meds for them. I hope you can work out your sleep problem, the day is great, but I really only like it when the sun is out now too!!
