I've had this dream twice in the past week, where I wake up and find a bunch of dead spiders on me. I tihnk they might be wolf spiders, if that matters, but I'm not sure. Also, wolf spiders like to hide in my basement and scare the bejeezus out of everyone.

Your fears that once bugged you, are now dead.

I wish I had that dream We're having an influx of large, live spiders in my house (okay, maybe 1 a week, hardly an influx) and I was thinking about it yesterday when one "got away" from my husband's effort to kill it.

But dreams. I use to dream of spiders or spider paraphernalia (webs) occasionally. I had to reach into a large, dark area (like under a bunk bed) that was surrounded by spiders and webs, etc. It was for something important so was like a representation of my fears that surrounded my actions back then, I'd act because I felt I "had" to but it was difficult because of my fears. So, for me, I guess spiders are related to fear and fear is usually about something unknown/the future and gets in the way rather than being very useful. Yes, it use to make our ancestors cautious so they didn't get eaten by lions, and tigers, and bears (Oh, my!) and we don't usually need that now.

Maybe you need to think about fears you have/have had that haven't actually been "true"? The wolf spider made me think of "crying wolf"? Maybe you are using fear of things that are "dead"/not a problem to keep from being "alive" yourself?
