why is it that when i am totally exhausted i simply can't get to sleep and when i eventually do fall asleep i wake up feeling fully refreshed only forty five minutes later only to become exhausted again as soon as i get up to do something yet if i stay in bed and try to go back to sleep i end up still awake five hours later? i am not worrying about anything, not planning anything etc, brain is not really thinking about anything good or bad, TV is on but i am not really listening to it or watching it, it is only on because it helps orientate me when i wake up during the night and gives me a focus whilst my body/arms are spasming.( i spasm for over an hour every time i wake up and when i am tired too
my room and bed are comfortable and i don't even have to be awake at a specific time in the morning. all i need is an uninterupted good sleep |

I don't have any definitive answers with regard to this, Yellowted. But my wife has difficulty sleeping. (Her's is stress-related.) I recall her telling me recently that she read somewhere that there is actually a physiological reason why, when you're over-tired, you have difficulty falling asleep. Perhaps a search of the internet could illicit some information with regard to this.
