Apparently the general theme of loss of possession, relationship,or self applies in the type of dream you describe. Something important is lost. It can involve fear of loss and the grieving process.

Feeling out of control about something in your life is also an interpretation. I often have dreams about losing teeth. I guess that says something about how out of control I feel...

You are giving up "teething", and becoming more mature.

Yes, i've had these dreams too. Recently in fact and i've never had them before. They were a little daunting to say the least.

Dreaming of losing your teeth often means you are grinding your teeth or clenching them in real life. I used to have those dreams all the time until I got a bite to help me with my clenching at night.
I know that's not exactly an interpretation, BUT people who grind or clench their teeth are usually under stress in their waking lives. |

Google: dreams of loosing teeth.
How the teeth come out, which teeth, etc determines what the dream means. |

It often signifies the imminent loss of a person close to you

I remember reading that it means that your life is going well and you're afraid of losing what good you have.

You can see there are a lot of different interpretations, some almost opposite each other. I think in analyzing a dream you need both a fuller context (more of the dream) and you need to give your specific associations to all parts of the dream.

I never interpret dreams! I just provide some insight to help one make some connections about the dream for them selves. The one who posted the dream has the final say so, thus the correct interpretation is their own interpretation.

I had this dream for the year before my mother died, while I was taking care of her. It freaked me out. I don't know if it was a product of the stress level or a reaction to imminent loss. Either way, I know how you feel!
The Google suggestion is a good one. There are several dream-interpretation websites and you might find something that resonates with you well. |

I have losing teeth dreams all the time. I really think it has more to do, in my case, with fear of the dentist, having had poor dental care as a youngster, and the resulting deficits in my own dental situation in adult life. I often dream of teeth breaking off, coming out whole, etc. I don't place any symbolism on such dreams.

I agree, although I've noticed that I have blind spots about my own dreams, and it is often easier to find patterns in another person's dream, hence the reason people ask for help. I think that my dreams are speaking of things that are initially largely unconscious to me, hence a bit of difficulty in seeing the pattern.

I may not be the best at expressing it, but what I am trying to "analyze" dreams, in the sense of finding patterns. For instance, is there a recurring them within the dream.
