I just woke up after a particularly disturbing dream about my dad. It was one o'clock in the afternoon and I was supposed to be giving him a "hair cut," only it wasn't a hair cut. I remember putting shaving cream on his face and cutting off the excess skin on his face. Plus I remember his forehead looked really scary with a raised groove, a kind of bump near the hairline, which he definitely does not have in real life! But anyway, it felt as if I was chiseling his face... toward the end of the dream, I felt as if I was running out of time and wanted to stop and continue the next day but my dad insisted that I finish.
Makes me think that I'm trying to change him, or mold him into somebody else, as if he doesn't live up to my expectations. And it's true that he's not exactly my favorite person and I'm not particularly fond of him as a person, and only happen to like him because he's my dad.
I was wondering if I was right and was wondering about the possible significance of the time.

Your interpretation of this dream seems to be the best one. Good insight!
Thanks for this!

thanks but what could the time mean, if it means anything at all? And how about the weird bump that was on his forehead. He looked absolutely hideous. Could that be a representation of how I see him, of my feelings toward him?

Do you have any associations to one o'clock? How about a raised groove on a face? The latter one sounds like some of the alien races in Star Trek to me. What do these things make you think of?

Not really although sometimes it seems like that whenever I look at the clock it's always 1:13 (am or pm). Never 1:14 or 1:15 but 1:13... as if the number is forever haunting me.
Obviously the face was terrifying and still gives me shivers... Perhaps I'm scared for my dad? I'm not scared of him -- I was never abused or anything...
