I've never suffered from night terrors, sleep walking, or anything along those lines as far as I'm aware. I'm 19 years old and from what I've read sleep terrors tend to start in childhood although I know adults do have them.
The other night I experienced a very strange night sleep. I fell asleep feeling a bit sick for no real reason as I was not ill or unwell in any way. I remember waking up all of a sudden in the middle of the night, sat bolt upright, staring around my room feeling worried and not knowing where I was. This feeling passed reasonably quickly although I have no memory of any dream or a reason why I woke.
I then believe I must have fallen asleep again without realising because I then was led back down, covered in sweat, shivering and feverish, heart going mad and the feeling of unable to breathe (much like a panic attack as I sometimes suffer from those).

Does this sound like a terror? And if so, is it possible to randomly experience them like this all of a sudden?

This sounds more like a mild panic attack. Work on turning down anxiety within.

Aoo' (yes), Panic Attacks are your feelings in a more intense way, and dreams are all about feelings!
