I dreamt that someone was trying to kill me. I never knew when he was going to turn up to try and kill me so I was on guard all the time. I carried around an arrow and a bow, ready to shoot anyone I thought was a threat. Don't ask me why it was a bow and arrow, I'm sure a gun would have been more effective but that's how it went. I was with my family during the dream and they kept telling me no one was going to kill me and I should stop being so paranoid. The fear was too much I guess, no matter what they told me, I just kept walking around with the bow in my hand, aiming it at random places, just in case the killer suddenly turned up. Trying hard to understand this, wondering how I could suddenly be so ok with killing someone, whether it was for self-defence or not, I don't even know who the killer was...

Dreams can speak of the relationship between your ego (your conscious attitudes, feelings, and sense of self) and your unconscious. Someone trying to kill you could be some part of your unconscious trying to assert itself, and this part of you feels threatening because it feels like it could take you over completely (your ego would be no longer recognizable).
If you want to, you could say a little bit more about your sense of self--who do you think you are? How would you describe your personality? What skills do you have? And this would be an interesting question to get your answer---if you were asked "Who are you not? What qualities, traits do you think of as totally unlike you?" what would you answer? Mike |

The Bow and Arrow, shows the need not to kill, or as violent as a gun. It represents your seeing. You seeing protects you. The feeling of someone stalking you, is just a feeling, a part of yourself that is watching you.
