Am having trouble sleeping at the moment and have several reoccurring dreams that I can generally get an idea what they are about. I find once I have a dream figured out it tends to stop and I move onto the next one. However this one has me stumped so would appreciate chatting to the helpful people on here to help me figure it out! !

I have a reoccuring dream that I am out walking in a very familiar place that I walk regularly but walking a different route that I havn't walked before, following a map. Usually I am following someone (I think it's my other half but its never clear in my dream) but they have gone ahead and I need to catch up. Suddenly I come to the end of the path and realise the right of way for the next part of the journey is though someone else's house! I am always a bit concerned about walking through someone else's house and check and double check the map and look for alternatives. In the end I walk through the house as the map says and carry on my journey. Sometimes there is an old woman in the house (noone I know) who is sometimes cross, sometimes she is happy and sometimes she is not there at all. The house is always the same, a small cottage with old decor and two doors (either end of the pathway) There is a piece of furniture that stands out to me- a very dark captains chair that is similar to one my Nan used to have in a house many many years ago. There is no other parts to the dream- the journey before and after the coming across the house is non-existant!

Thanks in advance for your help!

It sounds to me as if there is something blocking something you want to do. Nothing too huge, but it is bothering you, and it probably has to do with your 'other half', because you sense he is there. What is it you would like to do that he won't agree with? And is it worth discussing with him, if you do know what it is? People can sometimes surprise you.

A house represents your soul. It seems that walking into a house that is not yours suggests thinking about your situation with a new perception. Maybe one that a counsellor, or friend suggests that might be helpful. It can also mean moving forward into the unknown and facing any repressed fears or emotions that you have kept down. The old lady could be the part of you that is trying to make this change in thinking but is also resisting it.
