So for the past two nights I've been sleeping about 3-4 hours, then waking up every 1-1/2 hours after that. I do not nap during the day but have been depressed, so my afternoon activity level is low. I've been taking the following at bedtime:
1. 3 mg lunesta
2. 5 mg saphris
3. 1-1/2 klonopin (.5 mg)
4. 100 mg lamictal

My pdoc's solution is to set 1/2 or full tablet of klonopin at bedside and when I wake up at midnight or whatever to take more klonopin.

He is so reassuring. He said, "We'll work through this" and "If that doesn't work I have another solution."

He doesn't seem too worried about my use of klonopin at the time (I've only been on this for a few weeks.) I don't want to get addicted or dependent on it though, so I'm hoping that going up to 40 viibryd next week will help the sleep too (it's supposed to help sleep, appetite and en energy at that point, according to my pdoc).

Anyway, I'm psyched about the new solution. I know sleep is vital to mental health.

I'm glad to hear that! Be sure to run your worry of dependency by your pdoc though! Also feel free to run your own research on possible alternatives and run those by him! But I'm glad to hear you found a pdoc who actually wants to help you get better

Garza done works well for sleep without addiction or dependency, if your podcast is ok with you adding an antidepressant.

Klonolpin is a good even way to calm anxiety. The affects are not as short lived a some other benzos, say xanax for example. Always talk to your doctor about concerns of any drug.

The dosage that you are on is very small. It sounds like you p'doc does want to work with you.

Let him/her look after you.

Hi Newgal, It makes such a difference when you have a mental health professional that makes you at ease and gives you hope that things will get better. I am so happy for you . Having somebody like that fighting in your corner can be the difference between plodding along and seeing real results. Best Wishes.
