I recently started seeing a therapist and psychiatrist. I told them how im never able to sleep because of all the stress ive been dealing with in the past few years. my psychiatrist prescribed me with a medicine called trazodone (50mg) to help me sleep. ive had the medicine for a little over a week and have been afraid to take it because i dont know how my body will react to it (side effects) and i dont know if they will help.
the weird thing is that because of these pills even being in my house, i really cant sleep. of course im writing this at 3:00 am and im wide awake. do these pills really help and if they do, should i take the pills???? |

You wont know how the pills affect you until you take them. Some people don't have any side affects and some do. It is also normal to be anxious about taking pills if you aren't used to it.
The doctor wouldn't prescribed the medications if he/she didn't think it was warranted. Maybe it might be nice to get some sleep. You can always stop taking them if you need to. |

....and be sure to tell your doctor what you are feeling around taking those pills.

Hey biggmommasteph- I have been taking Trazodone for years and love it! I take a much higher dose and find it helps me sleep pretty good! Thankfully I hadn't had any problems with it, except it causes a little heartburn if I don't take it with food! Best of luck!!
