Hi guys,
I've been having problems sleeping for quite a long time now. I'm usually sorted for bed at around 9pm then I read for a bit. Usually I turn the light of between 9.30 and 10. But I can't sleep till about 11.30. I wake up around 7am and I know that's still 7.5 hours sleep but I used to sleep for longer. I lay un bed and I can't do anything. I get so bored and I'm not even tired yet. I always worry about stuff and i always think people are watching me so i always think outloud. Also I'm a 16 year old girl and I've asked my parents about letting me read for longer but they won't let me. Also the check one when they go to bed. They treat me like a child but that is for a different thread! So what I am asking is, do you know any ways I could get to sleep, without making my parents shout at me? |

Hi, spaceship. So you have about one and a half to two hours of lying in bed, not being able to sleep?
![]() Could you ask them about studying longer, maybe reading textbooks or something they would approve of? It could be that you might need less sleep than they think. Here's a link:http://www.wikihow.com/Fall-Asleep. |

Spaceship, Make sure you've had a really full day. Exercise late in the afternoon is good. Eat dinner at a reasonable time. Reading is a good way to relax. After reading you could try some relaxation techniques like deep breathing and relaxing your body starting from your feet and working up to your head.
