If you wake up during the night, how many times is it? For me I pretty much, as a rule, wake up twice and fall right back to sleep. I sleep total an average of 6-1/2 to 7 hours and feel well rested in the morning. No need to nap during the day.

My nights vary. Some weeks I will have to get up for awhile during the night, like last night, usually because of temperature -- I had to turn off the heat/turn on the air conditioning so there would be cool air for my sinuses/asthma. I stayed up for about an hour or a bit more, had a bowl of cereal :-) and played solitaire on my computer, etc. Since I'm retired I can sleep in if I want so I did not get up until 10:00 this morning. But most nights I'm like you, newgal, I may get up and pee once or twice or use my inhaler or something but then I go back to sleep okay and wake up okay; I don't like to take naps because that messes up my nights it seems, but my husband does almost every day.

Last night was very interesting for me, I couldn't fall asleep until 6 this morning slept non-stop until about 10:30 than was up for a little but then fell back asleep and slept until about 12:30, I got about 6 hours of sleep but I still have a splitting headache (I did take an Advil this morning).

Bad dreams last night have kept me from falling asleep this night. Oh how I wish I could sleep!

My nights vary. I usually wake up once to pee then fall back to sleep. Last night I woke up three times, twice to pee, the other time my boyfriend was coming to bed. I also had a dream that I couldn't sleep last night, so I woke up this morning anxious.

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night anxious, so I sit in my living room with the lights dimmed, watch some TV and drink cool milk. If I need to, I'll have a piece of buttered bread which usually helps.

Your very lucky new gal. Bad nightmares wake me up a lot. They are primarily related to feeling like I can't breathe, like I'm drowning or some other of suffocation. I think this is primarily related to my sleep apnea issues.
