Hello, I'm assuming typing hello was unnecessary but it's done now. In this post I would like to do something I've never felt brave or safe enough to share: My Dreamscape. I have unusual and often temporarily-traumatizing recurring lucid dreams that I have had literally every night that I didn't purposely stay up since age 16. The reason this is important for me to share is the combination of what my dreamworld always looks like and the...citizens therein might be similar or even interpreted by someone. I will try to keep the detail limited and useful, thanks.
The actual place I am always in looks like a gray desert with, I guess obsidian spires just sort of jutting like massive trees. The sky is an unusual aspect, it looks like a massive black sun is hanging over the landscape with pale green and black clouds ominously surrounding it and sometimes pale, humanoid arms and hands just, like, slide out and writhe like their boneless. Not a pleasant locale. The worst part are the "things" that live here, they're all different like individuals and all massively disturbing. I'd prefer not to describe them, or the things they do. Not yet anyway, I'm just a young newbie looking for guidance in a like minded environment. Thank you for your time. |

I Only Speak, This sounds like a nightmare. If you been having this same recurring dream for two years, you might want to see a therapist to find out why. Just a thought.

Hello I Only Speak. Your dreamscapes certainly do sound interesting! I suppose that's not the descriptor you would use though. Allot of my dreams, at least the ones I remember, have sort-of a similar background as well, although not one as exotic as yours. Mine mostly revolve around my being at home in one of several houses I have lived in over the years. And most of these dreams seem to take place at night. So it is dark.
Personally, I don't set much store by dreams. I guess they say something about the sorts of things that are on one's mind. But, personally, I think the idea of symbolism in dreams can be overdone without too much difficulty. That said, though, they certainly are interesting. I hope you will share more of yours as time goes on. ![]() ![]() |

I agree about dreams being easily given meaning unnecessarily. I do plan on sharing more about my dreams soon, I suppose I'm still a bit nervous about stigmatization, even thou there on PC I know that is an irrational fear. Thank you both for your feedback. I will say that my dreams are a double-edged sword. While I'm in them the things I see and things I meet are both mortifying and interesting, but it sure does give me good material for the horror aspects of my writing! In that way I suppose it's useful.

I'm a pretty experienced lucid dreamer and learned a few tricks that could help you. One way to change your dreamscape is to spin around like a little kid trying to get dizzy. For me it will either change the dreamscape or wake you up. Either way it will help you. If you absolutely want to end the dream just go to sleep in the dream. You will either wake up or have a false awakening. Good luck.
