Are you ready for a magical adventure at the land of the dead?
Because this is where the dream starts. I were at a place called Land of the Dead. At a forest, most precisely, and I were playing with two spirits at the top of the trees. We were running with the speed of the wind on the treetops, and I were being carried and thrown between the two, as I weren't a spirit (none of us three were dead). It was a bit dark and chilly, but really fun! I'd return every day to play with my friends.

One day, before entering the forest, I passed by a tall, cylindrical tower. It was a "tower of the dead". My curiosity led me inside. By the 2nd floor I met a young woman-and knew by instinct that she, unlike me, was dead. We started talking. I commented on how dark and moody was the interior of the tower. She jumped back in surprise! "How can that be? Oh, it looks like you can't see the way we see". Offering to correct my sight, she looked right into my eyes. Suddenly, the room became a bright, rich place-although still aged-and the statues on the walls started shining with a gentle pink light. It was beautiful!

But...looking through the window I immediately noticed something wrong. everything further than a few inches outside was pitch black. I couldn't see my beloved forest, despite knowing it was there. I felt suffocated and scared. When I told the girl she didn't find it strange. Suddenly, it hit me: her ghastly look had burned my brain, thus killing me. And she had no idea of what she had done.

In the meantime, my friends were looking for me. I've tried to escape, but everything outside was a black-and-grey haze. Just once I somehow haunted the body of a little boy, and my sight became clear, but I could only observe his daily life. The futility of it made me decide to go back again. But it wasn't as futile as I thought: some highly-sensitive forest animals saw me in the boy, and followed me to the tower. Then they left for help. They found an elf queen in the forest (A lord-of-the-rings type elf) and asked for her aid.

Back to the tower, I had found some comfort in the great room, among the company of many dead. We almost looked like real people, only we weren't. Suddenly, I felt like something woke up in me. I got up from my seat in the front of the room, got at the corridor, and started walking up the stairs. The others observed, but didn't follow, probably due to their half-asleep minds. I were climbing and climbing, passed medieval rooms, then came rooms taken from normal human memories where I could live in. I've only met 1-2 dead on my way, friendly as always, but who had taken residence in such rooms. I re-lived some memories around there, passed the night even, and the unsteady presence of the rooms left my memory fuzzy. But my urge to go "UP" was guiding me. I reached the top of the tower-but when I got outside saw that the tower was turning into a snowy mountain from that point on. I kept going, and at some point I suddenly turned into a white bison, which helped me continue. The clarity of soul I felt while transformed was vivid even after I woke up.

After reaching the top I turned back into myself. I saw the elf queen waiting for me there. She took my hand. And we suddenly appeared at the grand room of the dead, where I had started from. She was furious that they had killed me, although I were just visiting. She couldn't punish them in any way, of course. They were just lethargic, dead people. She led me down to the 2nd floor. There, she waved her hands, and the light around was lost. But I could see outside the window again: I was alive! She disappeared, and I happily ran outside to find my friends. Then I woke up!!!

It was a quite vivid dream, that left me with a strong "sense" of having a meaning...now what it is, I can't say (except something improving somewhere after persistence and effort ) I hope you enjoyed, and of you have any ideas for a meaning I'd like to hear
Thanks for this!

That is a vivid dream. It could make a good plot for a book!

Wow, what a fun read! I think it tells of good things? I wonder what the land of the "dead" represent. They seem friendly enough. Hmm.

They're friendly, maybe even comforting at times, but they think it's ok to know nothing beyond the good things of their own "world". They're a bit like the lotus-eaters of Homer's Odyssey. Only I get trapped because I change, not because I forget. They probably never have a chance of getting out of the tower, though, because they died usual deaths, in the "real world"-for them it's more natural to stay there. I think the reason I got out and revived was because I never truly forgot, the existence of the elf queen alone wouldn't have been enough.

Interesting dream..
I was having apocoliptic dreams where everyone looked like the living dead.
They were in shaggered clothes and horrific faces.
We all seemed to either be running from something, or running to something.??
This must of been a "DREAM SERIES" as this dream continiued from time to time, mostley every week.
I do get a little frightened, but find it weird, and wonder what will I dream of next?

I like dreams - they are commercial free

Dream series? This sounds awesome!!! Consider blogging it, if there was a continued plot
Allow me a bet-do you like watching movies about the living dead? I knew someone who saw often zombie dreams for that reason-they didn't sound as interesting as yours, though!

The only recurring dreams I've had this year were at some shopping malls, which were either closed with me trapped in, or about to close. It was totally weird, I had to stroll around in the darkness all alone till I woke up (except 1-2 ghost-like passer-by's) Just now I realized how much it looked like a graveyard without the lights and the people. The fun thing is, I were thining it was happening in real life, due to having seen the same super markets so many times!!!

The dreams are in gray color.
usually no sky.
Once, there were lots of these dead looking people walking along the beach in one direction. You could only see about 15 feet out into the water, as it turned to fog further out. There were old beatup pickup trucks where people were hoping on for a ride. Cars with no roofs on them. Sorta like a MAD MAX film. oppostite the water and our path, the other side was just a lot of smoke, and couldn't see inland. There were fires along the way with odd things burning. I did turn to look at one of these creatures one time, and a guy with a distorted face and intense anger tried to come after me. This was when I jumped on the back of one of the trucks. The driver never turned around to se me. I was scared to even look. All these people had their backs always turned, and if I tried to look upon the faces, they were shrouded by a grim reepers hoodie.

Another time, we seemed to all be in a bombed out city along the desert or beach? Tall buildings with windows blown out. The building were few though. People again with tattered clothes, but real faces this time. All heading out to somewhere.
We eventually found a basement garage, so it seemed, and went thru its gigantic doors. It was a 20 foot wide concrete floor with concrete sides over our heads om the sides, then big factory windows above the walls. A concave roof. We would walk a short ways, then go thru another dorm then another. Then at once< I all of a sudden had a door shut before me with a couple people with me. We were trapped between 2 big doors with no way out. Of course the windows were all gray smoked up and could not see out of them.
Another dream, people were inside this outdoor concert type place with a fence around it. We all had to get out of it and make our way thru town. No one else existed, no cars, no transportation.
Then another re-occurring dream, taking place at night only, but lite enough to see. no sun, just a drooping gray cloud of a sky.
Another dream, we were in a walk-in movie theater from the street that sloped into a dark room with seats and a picture screen.. On the screen were all of our sins replayed in everyones lives.
There are other ones, some more scarey, that had me throw my arms up and yell, that woke me up.
Wonder if Steven King gets his ideas for movies, this way....?

These are creepy in an interesting way! I enjoyed reading them, would probably read more. I wouldn't be surprised if Steven King got an idea or two from such dreams, they can be very inspiring (I sometimes draw ideas for paintings)

By the way, reading your post before sleep affected me. I were back at the supermarket, dark with a faint gray light as usual. Then suddenly a me-zombie jumps growling at the top shelf in front of me. My thoughts: "Omg a zombie! Wait, if I'm here how can I also be a zombie?...and why the heck do I look so sexier as a zombie?" (I'm stick-thin in life, but for some reason she had curves and shiny hair ) Weird.

Whoa, that's cool! I hope it's a miniature though, lol The red cross reminds me of something...an anime, maybe...can't put my finger on it. I can't see anything in your album, by the way (I want to see more to believe 100% it's not photoshopping, haha)
It's better to not avoid sleep alltogether if you like dreams, I find that the sleep is deeper next time and so I don't dream as easily.
