This may sound silly, but I dream about being in my house and trying to lock my doors or windows and the lock won't work. I try numerous times, and when I try the door, it opens. No one is chasing me or anything, but I just get really scared. I don't know if it means I'm insecure, or I don't want to let people in to get too close to me. Any thoughts?

It can be both. Dreams are best analyzed by the dreamer. What it means to you isn't the same as what it means to me.
That being said it evokes in me the idea of being transparent, not being able to contain myself. |

...for me, the house would be my mind/internal self, and I would be wanting, or part of me would be wanting not to let some things in (& those things could be external, internal, thoughts, wishes, events...) ambivalent ---
what comes to your mind? I have many repetitive-themed dreams...over time they have come to mean certain things to me but there is no "right" interpretation....though they can be used a fodder for change/creativity/just reflection...

You are feeling vulnerable in real life? Also this could mean you gave up on protecting yourself, and you feel that you can let others see how you are feeling now. The door to you is now unlocked.

I've been dreaming this for years so not sure. I do feel vulnerable because this is the 1st time I have ever lived alone. My husband passed almost a year ago. But I had this dream before that. Maybe I'm trying to shut my feelings out, but since the doors and windows never lock, may say that they are trying to come in. All I know is that it scares me every time I dream it, but no one is chasing me or trying to get in so I don't why I'm so scared.
Thanks everyone for the great input ![]() |
