I have a problem. I either sleep way too much (even when not depressed) or way too little. I've been up since 130 AM and am TIRED but mind is racing and can't sleep. I have no idea how I'm going to work today. Help! What's going on???

That seems harsh! A lot of people have sleep-problems, don't get too worried.

I am an over-sleeper; I just don't want to get out of bed. Then I'll be sad that I slept so long. So I should just get up when I need to!

Having problems sleeping can be a lot of things; sometimes music can help - it drones out the thoughts that your mind can't seem to stop processing.

Sometimes it takes a Doctor; they might be able to prescribe something.

I have often thought my phone number over and over again to "hypnotize" myself to sleep.

I hope work is ok, though!

If it truly gets to where you are not able to get to work, or function properly when you get there, then you might want some med to help you. There are lots of drug that can help induce sleep.

I suffered for years, falling asleep at school . . . needing to lie down during my breaks at work. Staying awake for two days at a time. It was awful. Then I was put on an antidepressant that also helped me fall asleep. My life became so much easier.

Anyone with a bona fide sleep disorder deserves help. Also, try to always work a day job.
