I keep having extremely vivid and disturbing nightmares. The last one was so bad I couldn't get back to sleep for hours. The subject content is so horrible. Like the last bad nightmare I had was incredibly violent and gory. I just want to be able to sleep without the fear of these dreams.

I see that you are on medications. Medications can be the cause of nightmares. I have a friend who experienced horrible night terrors and he was on seizure medication, he always told me he thought his medication was the culprit.
My dad is also on numerous medications, including wellbutrin by the way. He says sometimes he has horrible nightmares and claims they got worse when he started any medication. Its a strange side effect some medications have. Not sure if they've found a link why this happens. It could possibly happen more with medications that regulate mood.

I talked to my therapist about it today and she thinks it may be from my past trauma or even the food I eat. She says I need to keep track of the nightmares and what circumstances surround them.

I suffer from frequent nightmares. I think it may be the Trazadone. It takes me a while to fall asleep again. All my anxiety and fears.
