I had a dream that I was on a big ocean liner that struck an iceburg and was sinking. It was not the Titanic but it was a ship very similar to it, a very large ship. I knew people that lived on various decks of the ship. As the bow of the ship sunk lower into the water, and the lifeboats were loaded and sent away, I quickly went to make sure everyone I knew was out of their rooms and into the lifeboats. The ship began to sink quickly. I went down to E deck, where just minutes after the sinking started, was already flooding with water. I got some people I knew out of there, as well as people from D deck as well. Then I decided to go to C deck, which was already beginning to fill with water, since the ship was sinking at a much quicker rate. Got a few people out of there and got a couple of last people off of B deck as well. I got the last of the people I knew onto one of the last lifeboats. I stayed on bored, along with another 500 people still on the ship. Right after the last lifeboat touched the water and began to row away, there were a couple explosions that came from the boiler room, causing the ship to lurch forward, flooding the front half of the boat deck within seconds. The lights flickered a few times and then went out permanately. By this point, the stern was at a 45 degree angle out of the water, the front half of the ship completely underwater. Then another couple explosions ripped through the ship as it began its final plunge. It eventually slid under the water, killing the remaining 500 people that were on the ship. Overall, the ship sunk in just 30 minutes. I felt like I was supposed to help and felt glad I was able to help those I knew to be rescued, but, once they all left, I felt nothing but fear and despair as the ship made its final dive to the bottom. I felt very helpless as well. Not sure what this could mean but it was a vivid dream.

I'm not a dream interpreter. I just think of dreams as being the result of the brain doing what it does, unchecked by consciousness. So I won't be of much help with regard to suggesting a meaning for your dream. But it certainly sounds as though it was an interesting one. Thanks for sharing it.

Maybe there is a situation in real life you are feeling helpless about. Some past part of your life is slipping away from you, and you feel helpless about that happening. But not all was lost. Maybe a new beginning for you, there is hope yet.
