for the past 4 years I've been unable to get a full nights rest however when i do...which is rare....i usually end up waking even more exhausted...
i almost think that it's pointless to get an average of 6-7 hours because i feel so exhausted.
however I've been able to find I'm able to function and not feel tired with 2-3hours of sleep.
has anyone else experienced this?

Not personally, though I've known a couple of people in my life, that lived on a couple hours of sleep, at a time to function. Came down to needing sleep studies. There was a physical explanation, for both, but both with different explanations.
Has your doctor ordered any testing?
