I'm so frightened.
I just had a dream that I was in a baby's room and a woman was in there with me. She said something about a spirit and things started flying off the wall and falling down. I left the room and ended up in my (still alive) grandmother's living room where I sat on the couch. I tried asking for the spirit. I said "Nana"? And a voice coming out my mouth (but it wasn't me) said " Call her Nana T" (this was my mother's grandmother's name (deceased)). So I asked, "Nana T, are you there?". The voice came out of my mouth again and it was screaming/hissing " What do you want little girl I am a demon". I woke up terrified and crying. Tried to wake my husband and he ignored me for about 10 minutes. I kept seeing things in the dark and every sound sent me into a hysterical fit. My husband got annoyed And told me to wake up, to which I responded that I was awake. He got pissed and called me a child. I had to beg him to turn the TV on and he eventually (angrily) did. A few nights ago I accidentally punched my cat in the middle of a night terror. Before that, I got out of bed and my husband said I kept screaming for him to get away from me until I woke up. I've been having strange nightmares, about a week ago I dreamed I was being swept away in a sea of blood. In the last few weeks I have experienced terrifying episodes of sleep paralysis, night terrors and nightmares. When I wake up I cannot tell if I am still dreaming. Sometimes I am, sometimes I am not. The line is becoming increasingly harder to discern. I can't sleep right now. I still feel terrified. I feel like I am going to see something. I have had these sleep issues all my life but it is getting worse. The anxiety is making me feel like my heart is just gonna stop. Is anyone else experiencing this? Currently taking wellbutrin and due to start paxil tomorrow morning. |

Seems like it is the Medications that are doing this to you. Tell your doctor about the dreams. The Medications may be the demon in your dreams.

Thank you, I'm gonna mention it on Monday when I see my PCP. But I think I need to find a psychiatrist to prescribe me meds because my primary doesn't seem very invested in my mental health (or my physical for that matter...)

I have trouble discerning dreams from reality when I'm sleep deprived (like haven't slept for 4 days and finally get a night with some sleep). I also have like, dream delusions when I first wake up if that makes sense. Like the physics and various rules that applied in my dream still apply to me when I wake up even though that doesn't make any sense. Like one time I woke up beleiving that people had dragster horses instead of cars.

Do you have a therapist at all? It got so mine or my husband would be in my hard dreams and that meant it would be okay to explore them as they were there to protect me. It was a nice feeling in the dream to realize that, that if they were there I was safe.
