I usually only lucid dream when I feel in control. But lately I've still been able to do it. I don't feel that much more in control of my life though. Like at work if someone is a jerk I can't just tell them to f themselves and expect no consequences. So how am I still lucid dreaming now? Has my body adjusted? Is it b/c I can express myself here? I wish I knew the secret so I could do it more often It helps put me in a good mood after I wake.

That is because there is more to your life than just work.

I still have crappy times when I come home and my mom has been drinking. The only thing I can think of is when I get out to see my friends like once a month and have a good time. I'll try to hold onto those memories.

You mind is reminding you that you do have control. Now is the time to take control of your situations.

I appreciate the support Thunder, not in a sarcastic way but how do I feel in control? As in, how does someone feel control in these situations? Is it overall that I'm (hopefully) Moving out of here one day?

For myself, I would answer your question like this. I would note that dreams seem to be sending the conscious self (ego) a message, and in particular a message that the ego needs to hear. It would be pointless to send a message that you already knew.

So your conscious idea of your situation, your ego's view, is that you have very little control. But perhaps your unconscious is seeing things differently.

Even if you have little control over the external, objective facts of your circumstance, you always have some control over your reactions to that circumstance--your choices of what to think, how to act, where to focus. Your unconscious may be trying to help you get control of those things, and first of all it's sending you the message "You are in control."
Thanks for this!
