From the moment I wake up in the morning on a work day, I start thinking about when I can sleep or nap again. Even if I go the entire night without waking, I don't feel rested in the mornings or motivated to rise and face the day. The moment I am done with work, I want to go home and sleep. After I have slept, I feel much better and both my anxiety and mood levels improve. I'm not sure if this is bad for me or not? Should I just give in and sleep or fight the urge? If I fight the urge to lie down and nap I feel quite irritable and my anxiety levels rise.
I feel this way on weekends as well. If I don't get a chance to have an afternoon nap I start feeling antsy and withdrawn, especially if I know I have a social event to attend that evening.

I used to do that and I think the only thing that keeps me from doing it now is the meds I'm on. When i'm depressed all I want to do is sleep, so do you think that maybe you are depressed? Either way, if a nap makes you feel better then by all means take a nap.

Go with your present sleep pattern. If it works, no need to change it. It is helping you cope with every day anxieties.

Thank you for the advice. I do feel that I am going through a depressive phase, and I wish that I could find some way to be motivated for the day ahead instead of just gritting my teeth and battling through it.

I'm so glad I found this post! I feel the same way. There's nothing I enjoy more than coming home at the end of the day and crawling into bed. I can spend entire weekends (48 hours) in bed!
