The dream itself is pretty self explanatory, but I can't let go of it. I haven't had it since, but every night I am scared I will.

To give the condensed version, about 3 years ago my son's father (my ex) died from suicide by meth overdose.

My son (22 years old) has gotten into drugs also and may or may not be doing meth also ( I know he's done some other things). He is currently in jail because he missed showing up for his PO and for not participating in drug court like he agreed to. (he also borrowed a friends car with out asking first).

About a week ago I had a dream that he committed suicide, but it was a weird dream. I was informed (in the dream) by a note (not sure who sent it). I woke up and after a few minutes I realized it was only a dream, but then I would fall asleep and have the same dream. This happened several times.

It scares me because not only does he have the same voice as his father, as well as many of the same mannerisms, he also talks and acts like him in so many ways it's almost scary. My ex was a self medicating bipolar (as was his father).

My son has been seen, but told he wasn't bipolar.

They had a very volatile relationship as did my ex and I (too complicated to explain in this post).

I guess I just wanted to vent as it is still bothering me and worrying me.

Hello thecrankyone: I'm sorry you are having this difficulty. Clearly you are very worried about your son, as is certainly to be expected under the circumstances. And your worry is coming forth in your dreams. Hopefully you have someone... a therapist, a trusted friend, or other with whom you can talk about your concerns. Having to keep this kind of emotional stress bottled up because you have no one to share it with is not healthy, either emotionally or physically. But, also of course, keep posting here on PC. It can help too, as you already know... Thanks for sharing your struggle...

You sent yourself a note, informing you about the anxiety you have around your son. He is indeed committing suicide by living his current life style.
Thanks for this!
