I dreamt the other night I was back in the army. My unit and I were deployed to Afghanistan, but there was no fighting going on. We were all in some kind of camp/base in the mountains.
There was a pig/boar running around the camp/base with white and brown fluffy hair. We all were hungry and wanted to eat the boar. One of my leaders grabbed it and stuck a needle syringe looking thing into the boars eye and it went to its brain. It didn't kill the animal right away. The boar was still walking about in pain. I had a rifle and I aimed it at the boars head and blew its head to pieces. My leader took the carcass to a Afghani butcher and he cooked it up for us. The last I remember about the dream is that the meat from the animal tasted very salty, but was delicious. I don't know what this is suppose to mean. Any advice? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

It could be PTSD, but I think the pig/boar is very symbolic. I don't have the mindset of a military man, but my guess is that you are cautious and expecting the worst. The pig could be symbolic for the enemy, since pigs are tied to Muslim beliefs. White and brown could be the Muslim clothing. Being hungry could mean you are wanting or expecting gunfire or an ambush. The fact he didn't die right away could be the symbolism of a never ending war. And the taste could mean that after eating MREs all the time real food is a delicacy.
That's just my take. |

Thanks for the reply, but I have been out of the army for almost twelve years now. I have never been diagnosed with ptsd. The dream could mean what you said but I don't know. Thanks for the reply though.

See, I dont know these things. Im new to the military life, my brother is usmc and on his first deployment. I worry for him and pray that he comes home safe. But i think the miltary is a lifetime bond, you'll never stop being a military man. Thats just my take on your dream.
