Recently I have been getting this reacurrant dream of smoking cigarrettes. Smoking newport lights specifically which I have never tried or really thought about during waking hours. Its strange and I dont smoke, I dont like the taste of cigarettes. I have smoked in the past but I have never been a real smoker.
Meaning of this? thank Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk |

The dream may mean you are puffing on something in real life. You may be thinking about doing something in real life, or considering an issue. Thinking about it.

I have only heard of this in someone who is currently quitting smoking...
Did you know someone who smoked them? Is there something on the packet which could have a meaning?.. I sometimes find myself singing random songs in my head.. and when I stop and think the lyrics often are related to stuff I'm going through.. |

That is kind of an unusual thing to keep showing up in dreams, especially a specific brand. Do you know any whose name is close to Newport...or who lives in a city called Newport?

You may be craving for some thing in real life to refresh you.

Your attitude toward cigarettes probably has more to do with this than the actual cigarettes. Are you grossed out by cigarettes? Then it could represent another addiction in your life. Are you neutral or positive toward cigarettes? Then it could represent a person in your life who smokes or is struggling with addiction, or even a symbol of relaxation or change. You mentioned that you have smoked before but never made a habit of it; in that case, the cigarette could represent a dream or hope or life that never came to fruition. Dream symbols are highly subjective to the way a person relates to any particular idea.

Most of our dreams are meant to be feedback to the dreamer. They let the dreamer know how he/she is progressing spiritually and psychologically. Thus, we should not be too surprised to see symbols/images that have religious associations. Many of these symbols come from the depths of the unconscious. This means that their symbols can be mythological or pagan. Symbols from Hinduism can also show up in our dreams.
Although all dreams are worthy of our attention, reoccurring dreams suggest that these dreams are trying to tell us something. We can get a feel for the significance of smoking tobacco by looking at its origin. Native Americans have long used it in various rituals. Tobacco smoke would “rise to the Creator with our prayers and thoughts.” [Source: the internet] Names of people, places etc. in our dreams can be important. The cigarette brand is Newport. A new port probably refers to a new place to dock a ship or boat. Thus, it would be the equivalent of travel to an unknown place. This would be a journey to the lower realms of the psyche. This is a good sign. Hope this helps. |
