I usually sleep well into 7 or 8 hours a night, and sometimes more or a little less. With that said, regardless of if I dream (which is usually a very rare instance) or not, I always wake up extremely tired, as if I'd never slept at all, and am just as tired as when I went to bed that night. Its just like I close my eyes, as if to blink, and never slept at all.
I don't even think I've ever woken up on any day feeling "well-rested", or felt that I've had a "good night's sleep". Its a completely foreign concept to me, and I can't even imagine what they that could possible even feel like. I've been like this for as long as I can remember. What's wrong with me... |

Well there can be many reasons for this. Have you tried talking to a doctor about it?

When I go to the doctor's they just tend to take my blood and test it, and then usually just come back and say "you should be fine so we can't tell what's wrong with you". This has happened for a couple different things already.... |

Hello AVerySadThrow.
I had symptoms just like yours. I finally went to a sleep clinic and was diagnosed with sleep apnea (temporary absence or cessation of breathing). There is another thread about this where I describe my experience at a sleep lab, and my treatment. I get very restful sleep now and no longer wake up tired. Link to thread: http://forums.psychcentral.com/sleep...hey-offer.html I hope it helps. ![]() |

If you are drinking alcohol, even small amounts will affect sleep. Just throwing it out there....

Outside of church, as a child (I was raised in an extremely traditional and religious family), I've never consumed alcohol knowingly, and do not at all anymore since I haven't been to church in a long time. Not even as an ingredient in cooking - I will not eat anything cooked with alcohol out of principle. I am morally opposed to alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, for secular reasons, and have seen them do too much harm to people, and have thusly never consumed a single one of these in my life, and am very against the idea of it.
