i have been sleeping with a box which pushes air into my lungs , i was told i had sleep apnea by the doctor after my wife (katheryn) made me go for my snoring....
this scared me as i stop breathing when i sleep. the results came back that i stop breathing upto 83 times in a hour, which the doctors tell me this is very bad. i was just wondering if anyone else has to sleep with a box, or if anyone has sleep apnea ?.......

Are you referring to a CPAP machine?
My sister has horrific sleep apnea where she stops breathing about the same number of times an hour as you do. One sleep study she had showed her O2 down to 69%--you start turning blue around 88%!

Hi, does anyone know if a lack of deep sleep could be related to sleep apnea? I've been using a sleep app that's been tracking my sleep. And it shows that my sleep debt range varies A LOT in one night. It can be completely normal (7.3), and then it somehow falls to -1.5 during the night. It's really strange, and I've never had a problem with deep sleep before. The reason why I decided to use the app is because I'm very tired during the day.

I have sleep apnea, and use a CPAP machine. So does my husband.
Sleep apnea can affect just about anywhere in your sleep cycle, including deep sleep. It's best to get a sleep study and know for sure. |

Yes I use a cpap machine it helps a lot with my snoring and it keeps me breathing at night, the only down side is the dry mouth in the mornings.
They gave me another machine recently to prevent my dry mouth but I couldn't get on with it, it made me fell like I was drowning .

Hey therealme,
I was just diagnosed with severe sleep apnea yesterday. My doc showed me the sleep study results that I stop breathing 98.6 times per hour. It was kind of frightening to hear the news, but at the same time, I sleep terribly. I wake up at least five times per night, and my husband told me yesterday he's worried, because he sees me stop breathing and doesn't know what to do. Soooo, now I'm scheduled for surgery to fix my deviated septum in three weeks. After that heals, I'm supposed to use the CPAP machine. I reeeeeally hope it works! Hearing that you get some relief from snoring and gasping for breath makes me feel a lot more hopeful. I'm hoping this gives me more energy during the day, because as it stands now, I'm perpetually exhausted, and I doubt it's because of my low dose meds. If you have any other feedback, suggestions, info about your sleep apnea, or even stories, just drop me a line. I'm really nervous about this new medical problem. My oxygen is at about 80% every night, and I'm hoping everything works out in the end, but it's great to have support. I hope you are breathing better!! |
