I fell asleep and had the worst dream. There was this fascinating bug in the house and me and the kids were all watching it change shape, do cool stuff and we were chasing it all around but it bit jax, my 5 year old youngest and he started to change into this bug boy and grew these hard shells like cockroaches have. They were orangish brown covering the length of arms, legs, and on his head. Then he ripped them all off, but was pulling his long hair out too and his feet changed so he couldn't walk upright.I picked him up and said it's ok sweetheart but then his fingers started falling off and I was tripping, asking Is this real? Am I dreaming? And my ex said no this is real and I was flipping out. That's when I shot awake thankful it was a dream. I was terrified.lol what does that mean!?!?

Hello Aprilgs: I cannot comment with regard to the meaning of your dream. There are other members here who are knowledgeable with regard to dream interpretation. Hopefully one or more of them will reply to your post. In the meantime, however, I see this is your first post here on PC. So... to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! May the time you spend here be of benefit.
Hugs from:
Aprilgs
Thanks for this!

Hi,
The question should be why you needed this vivid and unpleasant drem to wake you up?
My guess is that you were feeling ill or nauseaus during the sleep. The dream could have been caused by something you ate, drunk or some medicines you're not used to.

No I hadn't done anything new, I just have real sleep problems. I am going to be having a slrep study soon because of my issues. I just thought it would be cool to see if anyone knew what it meant. The dreams I do remember are beyond crazy. This thread caught my eye and I had to share.

Hi,
At the sleep study, they should tell you what is causing your sleep problems.
It maybe that you're a light sleeper and don't go into deep sleep. Sleeping near the waking level means that you remember more of your dreams and remember the violent/vivid parts of the dreams that happen in deep sleep.
Many strange and vivid dreams happen during short naps or falling asleep in bad sleeping positions.
Regarding "meaning", everybody expects some meaning because people, even scientists, did not understand the reasons for dreaming.

This dream may mirror a real life situation you are in, where you needed to protect yourself. But you felt you were not getting anywhere in it, or able to do anything in it. Thus losing fingers and not standing up for yourself.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
