13 years ago I had an ex boyfriend who was very abusive in every way. He tried to throw me down the stairs because I didn't want to sleep with him. He was also very emotionally abusive and obviously had quite the temper. When I finally had the courage to walk away after 2 years, he slashed all 4 of the tires on my new car. I ended up getting a restraining order on him and I wasn't the last to do that. Within the past year he was released from prison for armed robbery. I've seen him twice since he was released but not for several weeks now. He does terrify me but really, he's been the last thing on my mind. Last night I had a brief dream about him. He approached me trying to talk to me. He wasn't threatening in any way but my feelings of utter terror were definitely there and I wanted to run. I typically don't remember my dreams and all I can recall is that he was only able to say a few words (I wanted to run), and then I woke up. I don't remember what he said.

The dream only shows you still have much anxiety about him, and rightly so.
