I am a nanny to 7 kids (ages 5-16) who all have sleep issues. I have realized the worst nights are when the kids are anxious about something (a big game, test or performance). I have tried enforcing a bedtime (obviously age appropriate, the 5 and a 16-year-old do not have the same bedtime), essential oils, melatonin and nothing seems to be working.

My next idea is converting the empty room in their house into a calm room. I will put a oil diffuser, playdough, coloring books (the adult ones for the two teenagers), and other non-stimulating activities. I will make it a technology free room and hope that calms them down.

Any other suggestions?
