So last night marks the 3rd night, every other, night that I haven't slept in they lady 5 days. The days I did sleep were I think 10 and 14 hours. Sleep had always been a challenge for me since childhood. I probably have a massive lifetime sleep debt. This most recent bout of insomnia began getting worse when I came off doxepin completely. Worked down from 100mg to 25 then 0 over 12+ month period. I've been off it since April and about 45 days off discontinuation syndrome marked mostly by panic attacks. All I know is I can't do anything in this life if sleep isn't in order. Ambien does the trick. Is it time to just get a medication?

Also I have terrible sleep inertia,. Can't fall asleep and can't wake up and when I do it takes hours to feel awake. Also I've experienced exploding head syndrome a handful of times. Also I rarely, like couple times a year, recall any of my dreams but I start dreaming as soon as I fall asleep. I also dream during bursts of micro sleep. I developed binge eating disorder as a way to get to sleep, but I'm taking that off the table as a solution. I can usually get myself to the point I presume is light sleep but my thoughts morph into dreams and I always wake up during that time after a few seconds or minutes. Fwiw.

Also also I take benazepril, buspirone, citalopram, duloxetine, Prilosec and Adderall. These problems existed long long before the Adderall. The whole reason I stopped the doxepin, which did fix the sleep problem was a published study looking the drug to higher rate of dementia.
