Hello,

I have been on Seroquel for about a week and a half, and I have had strange dreams since the first night of taking it. My dreams are super bizzare, but interesting. I wind up forgetting the dreams shortly after waking up, but I always know they were odd.

I was wondering if everyone who goes on Seroquel will have lucid dreams? If so, when do they start? I am assuming that I just have not reached that point yet since I am fairly new to the medication.

I found a 2011 thread about your concern, Dowdy.

https://forums.psychcentral.com/psyc...id-dreams.html

An internet search produced results about how drugs like Seroquel interferes with REM sleep and causes mood and behavior changes as side effects.

A safe way to monitor the effects of the drug on your system is to keep a daily journal. Esp. around bedtime and first thing in the morning. Write down how you feel at bedtime, and again, first thing in the morning. Write down the type of dream you had. Then, you can track how the Seroquel is effecting your mental health and physical health, as well as your sleep.
Thanks for this!

I personally didn't. It knocked me out pretty hard. I don't remember the sleep quality on it. If it affects REM, I imagine you'll have to try it and see how your dreams respond.

i'm a 71 yr. old female, bp2, and the only med which stops the racing thoughts and allows sleep is 25mg. of seroquel; yes, the dreams are vivid and real and yes i wake up hungover til the 2nd cup of coffee, but i feel i am getting the much needed sleep that i wouldn't get if i don't take it. i think the vivid dreams will be there as long as i take this med; i've tried other meds and this is the only one which works; if i really am stressed, my p/nurse allows adding 1/2 xanax to the mix.
Thanks for this!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
