Not exactly. It's when you actually have woken up [or semiconscious] but you're completely paralyzed, can't move yet can see, and oftentimes people observe and hear entities and figures in the room. The whole thing is basically pretty terrifying. Happens to me sometimes but I don't see entities, just paralyzed with great sense of dread like Satan's in the room or something. Not cool.

OHHHHHHHH!!!!! I have had that happen a couple times, and it wasn't fun. It was a nightmare, and I knew I was dreaming and kept trying and trying to wake up but I couldn't. And yes, being in the dream world meant being subject to it all while aware.

Hi yogurtssss. I'm not sure if you're asking me or the OP but, for me, I think it's more related to an overabundance of anxiety in the psyche. But it definitely feels like a Satan in my bedroom. Spooky.

well it does seem that way

but regarding if it's a part of someone's brain they haven't use before

could it be sometimes the "entities" that appear are real and you're able to see it because you have that trait but it's been hidden

I think it's a possibility that shouldn't be ruled out, sure. Yes, projections from another part of reality. I mean there's far more to consciousness than anyone has really understood, from what I can tell. Interesting.
