I had a dream I was with my coworkers walking some special needs students from the high school we work at. For some strange reason, we were walking on the college campus I graduated from. I don't know why we were there or what business we had at being there but we were there for some reason and late at night as well. We were all on the clock. We were working and we were responsible for the students.

As we were walking, and I was obviously leading the way since I knew my way around, a severe blizzard hit. It was life threatening. We could not stop moving otherwise we could easily be buried by the snow in less than a minute. A nearby dorm I used to live at for 5 years was my choice of shelter and planned on taking them there.

As we were making our way to the building, the fire alarm went off, forcing an evacuation of the building and preventing us from seeking shelter. So we kept moving as the storm got even worse. As we went behind the building in hopes that eventually we would be allowed inside, a student I was in charge of stopped moving. I quickly prompted her to keep walking which she did as directed. Then suddenly a sudden rush of wind caused a brief whiteout and snow drifted and I got a brief sight of the student running off.

When the air cleared, she was gone. She had gone completely missing. The campus was extremely small so she couldn't have gotten far especially with the deep snow. I immediately alearted my coworkers and a search was immediately started. Although I noticed that no one seem to really put in much effort. Then the dream ended. Not sure what this dream could represent. It was so bizzare, so strange and random. Woke up very relieved that it was a dream. I had a feeling of pure dread and fear at the end. I do worry about stuff like that happening in real life at times, not to that extent, but still have that fear that something could happen to a student I am in charge of and I could get in trouble.

Hi,
Rather than look for a "meaning" You should consider what a dream does during sleep. Every dream weremember is dreamt to do acertain task or respond to an externalor internal(psychological) influence.
Your dream depicted how you felt during the sleep; cold and full of responsibility for the students in your charge. You may not admit it to yourself, but you feel some dissatisfaction with your present job. It is not easy to deal with people with learning difficulties. I know, as I did voluantary work for over 18 years.
You always worry about safety and sometimes irrational behaviour.
Regarding the dream scenario; the sobconscious can create one out of its own iagination. Usually it is a mixture of creative imagination some personal experience/memory.
The last part of your dream contains waking elements; frustration, fear and the the fact that nobody seems to care about the problems.
Over all the dream indicates that you feel alone with your responsibilities.

Sounds like you are anxious about the responsibilities of your job

Sorry for the very late response. I agree with you. I definitely feel very alone with my work responsibilities. I have noticed that I am very easily ignored and do worry that if something came up that requires immediate attention, I will be ignored. Another reason I believe this is because if another coworker needs minor help with something small, others will be glad to help out or at least just offer to see if they could help. But if I need help, I am all alone. And no one bothers to even ask to see if I need help.
