Sometimes. I own a huge 2 story house & it's just me & my 3 dogs way out in the country. I keep the lights on around the house & in the basement all night

I must admit.....no. I was very scared of the dark as a little child, but then, something within me changed, and I loved it from then on. I used to sneak out of my house at night when I was a teenager and walk in the 14 acres of woodlot we had. I, like eskielover, have a big old house and I love it dark. it's just me. Dark= Peace in my mind.

I actually love night time in the country. It is so dark you can see the stars & shooting stars look awesome. It is also when my woodland critters come to visit. Raccoons come up from out if my woods looking fir handouts. That all started last spring with a mommy & her 5 babies.
Last night when I came home there were 2 deer just laying out in my field enjoying that huge moon after all the rain we have been having. I didn't mean to disturb them when I drove up. I get the not so friendly coyotes also. One night a few years ago however I got hungry abkut 3am & went downstairs to my kitchen. As I walked back to the stairs with my food, I noticed my truck headlights were on & I hadn't driven my truck in 3 days. Knowing my neighbors home he never finished buikding had been broken into several times I started to wonder what was going on out there with my truck. I walked back upstairs to my bedroom & the lights stayed on (normally they automatically shut off after a few minutes) I ate my food & the lights were still on. I am brave but wasn't brave enough to go out there alone (even with one of my dogs) so decided to call 911 to see if they could send out one if the sheriffs to help me check it out. Dispatch said sure, no problem, woukd take a little while as he was on another call, but to stay insude & make sure doirs were locked. About 20 minutes later the sheriff came driving down the hill goibg down & crossing over the creek. He said as he was driving down the hill, he definuteky saw the headlights but as he drove up the hill to my house, the lights were off when my truck came into sught again. I greated him outside & we looked at the dew all around my teuck & on it & saw no signs if anyone being there. We chatted for a littke while & he left. I was sure there was absolurely ni one involved in the headlight incident. Thought, maybe the same thing tbat made my windo wipers turn on withlut even a jey in the ignition. I never like an unsolved puzzle. Soon after that I realuzed that when the panuc button on my truck door popper is pushed, the lights on my teuck come on & stay on for an extended length of time before shutting off. My dog Leo, loves to get into my purse whenever I leave the room, looking for whatever food he might find in there. He must have stepped on the door popper panic button after I went downstairs to get my food which is the only logical reason my headlights came on when they did & stayed on for so long. Lol, a lit of good having my watch dogs does when they create the concern I end up dealing with. Now I KNOW!!!!

Yes, there is something about the darkness I still don't like. Plus I have PTSD so I worry I'm going to have nightmares.

Not until last week. I thought I heard a huge bang at my door in my sleep. I was terrified. Few hours later I thought I heard someone downstairs in my sleep.

I don't like evenings and nights. For some reason my mood always starts dropping around 6 pm, and just gets worse. Maybe it's because I have no one to hang out with and no one to go out with. I'm definitely a morning person. I go to bed as early as I can, and like getting up around 5 am, when everything seems new and possible.

Most of the time I feel a little edgy at night but I have always chaulked it up to PTSD. Its always difficult when my husband is away. At those times night= torture.

I do only because I was attacked in the night time.
