I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I have tried many approaches and currently use temazepam nightly.
Should you use Benadryl nightly? Does it work for you? If so, please ask your pharmacist or doctor if it's safe to use each night. My pdoc has told me Benadryl does not give high quality sleep; yet, you can check with your doctor/pharmacist about this. Sweet dreams! ![]() ![]() WC

Even when I was prescribed sleeping pills, it was directed in a way that said it works better to take for a night or two to readjust my sleep. Then I would get back to even keel. It was expressed to me that it's an as needed type of medicine.
And my sleep disorder was more a result of not sleeping through the night. What does your doctor recommend? |

I find a combination of unisom and xanax or ambien helps get me there. Many will not subscribe xanax anymore. Magnesium can help as well. Just start with half doses of each cause the unisom can leave you groggy upon waking.

I have bipolar and take 100 Seroquel at night. I sleep great with it. Are you on Meds for depression? Taking them at night should help you sleep. Maybe you need a med adjustment if you can’t sleep.

This article might be of interest, though doing the things it suggests may prove difficult to integrate into daily routine (especially if depressed) & shared spaces.
http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20180424-what-i-learnt-by-living-without-artificial-light I think that benadryl is relatively safe to take long term, though you might develop a psychological dependency for it. It seems to help me when I use it. |
