I worked with a lady who has it in a call center. She would fall asleep on a call.

My symptoms are not that bad. I can only imagine, to fall asleep while on a call.

So apparently I have it, it probably started as a result of Covid I had in August 2022, but luckily it responds to amphetamine.
Dextroamphetamine Sulfate TABLET 5 MG which is the lowest dose of it. I have been on it for 5 days. It works like a miracle.

Unfortunately, side effects piled up after that initial "like a miracle" effect and I cannot tolerate taking Dexedrine continuously. I might still take it as a PRN, infrequently, when I cannot afford taking a midday nap.

Will be looking for other solutions.

I think you wrote that Nuvigil didn't work at all. I hope you find something quickly!

No, unfortunately, Provigil and Nuvigil did nothing at all. I could wake up with an alarm, feeling sleepy, take one of them, as instructed, and go straight back to bed for several more hours of sleep.

My psychiatrist wrote to the state disability office (I was on temporary disability at that time) that I was "resistant to Modafanil".

My sleep apnea is well treated with the machine. I still need naps during the day and overall sleep excessively. So it is not sleep apnea but a different disease.

I am glad CPAP is helping you.

So Ritalin is working for this. And very gently, with no side effects at the lowest dose. I tried two tablets (not at the same time) last week and got terribly dizzy. It felt as if something inside my head were spinning. I then look up dizziness and it is a common side effect of Ritalin. Luckily at the lowest dose I do not get dizzy.

For now I am in a state of (happy) disbelief that a solution has been found that works so very gently.

Thank you, my friend! You know how I went through despair and disappointment before landing safely.
