Hi folks. I just started Modafinil. I'm taking 100 mg mid-morning to see how it works. I'm supposed to be on 200 mg in the morning, but I thought 100mg in the morning, then another in the afternoon might be better.

Does anybody have an experience with this drug? What am I to expect?

Cheers

Hi PhilMC I went to the manufacturers website and found this that it helps people stay awake. The site prevents copying info so check it out if interested.

This may not be something good to take anywhere near bed time but you could also ask your pharmacist or prescriber

Yes that's why I asked to take it. But expectations vs reality can be different. I've taken it twice now and it doesn't really seem to do anything. But I'll give it a whirl.

It didn't do anything for me. Neither Provigil nor the newer Nuvigil did anything. I tried them more than 2 years ago. If I was sleepy in the morning, I could take one of them and go straight to sleep

I plan to restart them, though, to try again. I will let you know if I fare better on them this time around.

Thanks for the notes. I was awake for two days, and two days off, I'm back asleep in the afternoon. Granted, a lunch with beer does that to me. I've not felt anything strangely aware, as I was expecting like when I feel after a coffee. I know the financial world thought this was going to be something amazing. But I don't trust banksters anyway.

Will keep trying.

Well, two Modafinils and a cup of coffee. Feels great. Not sure if this is a logical stack but it's working.

I had to go through heart tests to see if I could get on it. I ride a bike and everything was just fine, until the helathcare system needed more money from me. I don't know who to believe anymore.

Oh, I see. Do you had a stress test on the bike?

No it was on a treadmill. I ride a bike. I had to do a stress test when my heart was fine, for some reason, because my doctor that knows I ride a bike, thought my heart couldn't take it. I ride across Europe on a bike. When I went through all the sleep tests and heart tests, he told me I should see a sleep specialist. I told him "I have one. I've done all the tests. He jokes that I should start doing them a second time." I've been seeing this doctor for 16 years, every 3 months. I'm starting to think this is a big joke.
