being chased

I have lots of dreams where people are trying to kill me. The weird thing is that I don't feel scared in them. I always get away. Some times I have to kill the person or people trying to hurt me to save my own life.

I don't really understand why I have these dreams.

Prazosin at bed time helps eliminate those type dreams. Ask your doctor for a medication to prevent them.

do you know what causes them?

Running away from anything or anyone in a dream refers to you running away from stuff you are not ready to deal with. The fact that you are not afraid and that you always escape shows us that you will deal successfully with these things in your own time at your own pace.

when I was young after being hit by a car. I use to have a dream about something chasing me. It was endless. I would run in my sleep . Sleep walking. It was night tearers. It only lasted a bit.
I would assume I was trying in my sleep to out run the car. Also the kids who were chasing me. Trying for a different out come.
Talk to your Dr if it keeps up .

Unpredictable,while my dreams are not necessarily about people chasing and trying to kill me,they are in a way related i guess to being killed.I am a Volunteer Firefighter and a few months ago responded to a house fire with a person trapped inside.Sadly an 81 year old man was found inside after a long hard fight battling extreme temperatures and a heavy volume of fire,at one point in which everyone had to back out.The first dream i had involved being inside a burniung house and there was snakes crawling out everywhere,the walls,the floor,ceilings,everywhere.The second was a replay of the fire where the eldery man was found,it occured in my dream exactly as it happened.My therapist did not really have an explanation of what the dreams meant,except for the second one,she said it was just a replay in my mind of the fire.I found it hard to get a restful sleep after that,but now have a med that helps me sleep and slows the panic attacks.Any guess on what those dreams mean anyone?

Wow, I had a dream where my house had snakes everywhere. Coming down the fireplace and everything. I don't recall a fire though.

Isaw this yesterday and just wanted to say what a great interpretation,

I belive once a dream has some sort of resolution it stops , Untill we get the message it will continue.

I have various kinds of dreams where I am being chased and someone wants to really hurt me . some involve a car , some involve finding my car after a hit and run.

Usually in the dreams where I am being chased I am trying to scream for help but my vocal chords are paralized,

I had this dream time and again. Im sreamming for help but no one can hear me because I can't speack.

one night about two or so years ago I broke through the dream and was screaming over and over in the waked state.

Help help me .

I twas in the middle of the night . No one up stairs came down . Hopefully I didn't wake anyone.

This told me something . The dreams have pretty much stopped.

I had a upsetting snake dream this past summer.

this snake was huge , a python . slipped in through my main and only acessable window in my apartment . this window shows up frequentlt in my dreams .

the snake was trying to bite me. I managed to step on the back of its neck while it was trying . This coincided with a specific event.

So maybe its about control.

Those snakes could have been the uncontrollable flames that slide through openings .

I'm visualizing a fire movie I saw where a fireman was an inside arsonist.
can't remember names very well.

Just as it was time for me to go to work today I reread your initial post,

I came to this thread because I was so impressed by Muffys interp of her dream . I noticed you had a portion where you had to kill others inorder to save your own life . You also mention you do not feel scared in these dreams.

I have had the chasing dreams and I was terrified. I have had two dreams about killing someone . One was someone who was hurting me. The one I reread today was very jumbled and I wasn't sure if i had or not . In both dreams I woke up grateful they were not true. well. In both dreams I was trying to hide .
In fact I think thats one theme in mine is hiding,

Hiding the feelings and running away from them. The feelings for me were about being abused by others.

I have asked a T about what they thought my dreams were and one said. I don't know . What do you think they mean. I had no idea at the time I drew a blank.

I find when I listen to others share about thier interpretaions it helps me figure out my own.

Difficult stuff some times to work with.
