It’s been said that you are what you eat. Does that mean you are what you smoke?
![]() If you are thinking about quitting, getting ready to quit right now, or working at staying smoke-free, here’s an added motivation to stay away from tobacco. Did you know that there are 4000+ chemicals in cigarette smoke? Did you know that 43 of them are known to cause cancer? ![]() Cigarette smoke contains a mix of tar, nicotine, and other toxins. Some of the most noxious ingredients are formaldehyde (embalming fluid), carbon monoxide (car exhaust), nitrobenzene (a gasoline additive), acetone (nail polish remover), and arsenic (a poison feared by rats and featured in many mystery novels). ![]() Remember this when you plan to light up, or if you get a strong urge to pick up again. Let it gross you out. Repeat these to yourself when you want to light up, and you might just decide not to smoke. Remember that the urge will pass in a few minutes. ![]() If you have already quit, think about what you’d be putting back into your body if you take even one drag. You don’t really want to be insecticide, barbecue lighter fluid, and toilet cleaner, do you? ![]() ![]() Peace!
