It's been over a year since I quit smoking and I'm still coughing up greenish mucous every once in a while . How long does it take for your lungs to clear up ? Is this smoking related or something else?

Congratulations on quitting!! Did you need help or was it cold turkey? I've never smoked so I don't know if this is normal. Does this happen everyday or is it extra bad right now? If you have a fever with body aches then you're most likely sick. Go to your doctor and let him listen to your breathing. Hope you feel better soon.

Green is not a normal color for sputum. Tan or white is but green or yellow is never normal. Get to a doctor and get some antibiotics. Don't wait.
