How did I quit? I got prepared. I researched everything I could on smoking cessation. I joined a smoking cessation online support group, I called my State's Smoking Quitline, I bought my nicotine patches and lozenges and I chose a quit date. Armed with everything I needed which included an unwavering desire to quit, I had my last cigarette at 8PM on 8/30/10. I vow to stay smoke-free for the next 24 hours. I quit for over 20 years and stupidly started smoking when I was hospitalized in March (it seemed like every single patient smoked)! I love being a non-smoker! I have so much more energy and I don't smell like cigarette smoke anymore!

ANYONE CAN STOP SMOKING - BUT YOU HAVE TO WANT TO.

Congrads on being a quitter. My quit date was June 28th,2010 and I too enjoy not smelling like a walking cigarette but also paying $10.00 a pack was way out of my price range. My health is better, my meds work better and I too have more energy so I'm right there with ya. You can do it!!!
