I don't know what to do I'm trying to quit. Thing is I don't want to, the only reason why I am trying is I can't afford it. So is this a good idea. I haven't smoke for about a week, but today a work friend gave me two cigarettes. Is it okay to have one every so often or should I try stopping cold turkey.

Just my opinion...and a little late (as I check the date of your post )...but you quit only when you don't smoke at all. So.....don't smoke at all!! You sound like you can do that well. Best wishes for continued success!

Cold turkey is the best way to go, otherwise, you can always find an excuse to have one. To have one triggers the need to have more. There is no easy way to quit. I've been there. I quit 20 years ago, cold turkey. It does get easier the longer you go without one.
