Started smoking out of curiosity, just like that. I was 17, back then I never thought that first puff would pave a way for what will be my serious addiction in life. Since I had to hide from family, the smoking then was not considerable, besides I couldn't afford it. While in college improved access added to my mental illness (not diagnosed at that time), put me all in to smoking. I remember trying to quit several times, the longest time I succeeded was 7 months, I think. Now am 32 and smoke 1 pack per day !!
Health risk, cost, inconvenience, and peoples judgmental comment are my troubles and concerns now. Besides, I couldn't establish a working relationship mainly because of my addiction with cigarettes. I know I have to quit, but at the same time I enjoy it and at times consider it as my only way out from all my troubles, like a good friend.... it is like a trap. GORE |

lol... I started when I was 11 years old. Smoked a pack a day from age 15-39. I finally quit. I used it all to quit (at once). I had nicotine lozenges, nicotine gum adn I also used toabacco snus and smoked a pipe (you do not inhale pipe smoke just puff). So, in the end I got it down to Camel snus and puffing the pipe in the evening. You will have to make yourself do it. I wish you luck cause it is hard but saying no to yourself is all you can do. For weeks you will be stressed a bit adn more hungry so be ready. And, yes; you may or may not quit and then start again but that is up to you.

The saddest part of smoking is that with cigarettes the chemicals they add are what you start craving. I found this out trying to quit. Plain old tobacco will help a great deal but you still crave a cigarette, often. I have not had one in 4 months but every other day I will think about buying a pack and have to stop myself. Then after a few minutes the desire passes.
