Hi guys!
I've been having a look at some of your posts. You guys are amazing!! Rambo has got me through most of today (movie marathon). I've gone for the cold turkey option. Using smoking cessation hypnosis to help me sleep. They say the first three days are the hardest. I'm hopefully about halfway. I think I can..I think I can..I think I can ![]() |

I know the beginning is hard, but don't let your guard down even past a week. It's easy to convince yourself you're doing great and relax a little, then get hit with a bad craving or so. You're doing great! will be following (and admiring). your updates.

after 3 days you stop having any nicotine in your body, so 3 days it the physical withdrawal side of smoking.
Keep it up! We're all rooting for you! ![]()

Hey thanks so much for your support and encouragement guys! Every little bit helps! I think I'm at 44 hours now.
The hypnosis app I'm using is called smoking kills quit smoking now. I never even hear what he says as it puts me to sleep pretty quick. I'm finding when I have my coffee my cravings are screaming. Any tips? I've been using a stress ball or online blogging to keep my fingers busy but damn it's a battle. Thanks again! Cheers |

Vary your routine. Do not do things at the same time you did them before. Say if you take a shower in the morning. Switch up,and do it at night. I know when I was working I actually had to stop taking breaks because everyone smoked that worked there, and they all did it at the break table. Keeping your hands busy is key. For oral fixation, chew on half a straw. Doesn't look any stranger than a toothpick in your mouth and you can chew the heck out if it. People who used to criticize smokers would offer them a pacifier to remind them that cigarettes was basically that. One thing I hated being told, but is true. If you really want to smoke, any excuse will do. So each time I was thinking I need a cigarette, I'm too angry/upset, I would think if that comment and it always stopped me. Good luck! |

I did a lot of things that I only did while NOT smoking. Took a lot of showers and brushed my teeth a lot!

Hey, I am hanging out for a ciggie now!!
Not sure if it's just the withdrawals or seeing the new wiggles singing carols. Oh how I miss the original wiggles. Not quite as much as I'm missing smokes though. Lucky the Mentalist is on soon that will totally distract me for an hour. AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!! |

Keep it up. Soon those craving will stop. When I'm feeling anxious I use this breathing exercise I learned. Take in 3 deep breaths. Pull your diaphragm down toward your pelvic floor and squeeze at the end. The blow out through your mouth. It is supposed to calm the vagal nerve. And using your breath like that is like drawing on a smoke but you are not smoking.
