why is it so hard to quit why is the urge to just light up so strong what am i going to do!! i want to quit so bad... do patches actually work? does chantix take away the urge to smoke? i feel the hardest part for me is not having anything to do with my hands, it just feels so much beter with a lit cig
if i try gum and patches will these feelings go subside..? get weaker?

also wellbutrin doesnt seem to help either... had people tell me when they took bupropion it made their cigs taste nasty, made their desire less, am i broken..?

Look up "Stop smoking the easy way" by Allen Carr. I smoked for 25 years and quit cold turkey relatively easy.

I've been using patches and they seem to work okay. I do get urges about having something in my hands or mouth though so I play with straws.

I just started Wellbutrin for an unrelated depression that wasn't getting better with a regular SSRI and it has taken those urges mostly away.

Hang in there. Quitting is probably one of the hardest things especially in the first part, but it is worth it. It's not you; it's your brain. The nicotine receptors remain even after you quit so it takes a while to be free of it.

I filled my frig with healthy foods like lots of veggies and salads. Some salty things I seem to crave. And tried to make small healthy meals, drink extra fluids. That gives you something to do with your hands and mouth, always having a drink in your hand. Getting a little bit more sleep, using my sedatives when I was in a knot. So far it's working out okay. I don't feel super fantastic, but I do feel a little better.
